I love spinning from locks--mohair, Wensleydale, etc. I usually just tease them out a bit before spinning but, if you look close (click for big), you can see how these are just full of veggie matter. I need to open them up a bit more. I grasp them in the middle, lay it against my leg and tap lightly with my favorite dog comb (has tines that spin so they don't pull and break the fiber so easily)

My Grandma Heniser (mom's mom--though she was twice remarried [and outlived them all, plus all her siblings and friends], she will always be Grandma Heniser to me) passed away this morning. Not as much progress today because I was working.I did start filling another bobbin and nearly enough on the spindle to wind off again.

Today's progressI also had to finish up a spindle of some merino/silk to wind off so I could give Em back her Golding (which, after a year and a half, she finally let me try ;-). Totally clean out the fridge, do some laundry and work on a baby blanket I'm knitting for Warm Woolies. I'm off to bed so I'll talk about the actual spinning of the yak, which I meant to do yesterday, tomorrow. I hope.

Stupid blogger. I had an entire post, hit publish and then view and got an error message. No more post. Wugh.I may, or may not, have joined two different Tour de Fleece challenges. This one... I've been a member of my local Freecycle group for a couple of years. Often, the shopping lists (jeebus, get a job and go to Walmart already) make me want to leave the group. I stick around because I have things I'd like to get rid of (ie. A few years ago, Alex, my middle son, went to Ohio for the summer to help his dad as he recovered from major back surgery.
